On the heels of announcing it was acquiring two Canadian private-label cracker makers, U.S.-based Ralcorp Holdings Inc. is purchasing Sepp’s Gourmet Foods Ltd. Sepp’s, which is headquartered in Delta, B.C., manufactures frozen breakfast foods such as french toast, waffles and pancakes, and has annual sales of approximately US$29.3 million.

Last week Ralcorp announced it was acquiring Georgetown, Ont.-based North American Baking (formerly known as PL Foods Ltd.), a producer of private-label crackers, as well as Kitchener, Ont.’s J.T. Bakeries, which makes private-label and co-branded gourmet crackers. Annual sales for the two companies are US$56.7 million and US$38.5 million respectively. No purchase price was announced for any of the three Canadian acquisitions.

St Louis, Mo.-based Ralcorp produces a wide range of grocery products, including Post brand cereals, private-label frozen bakery products, snacks, crackers, cereal bars, sauces, jams and more. The company seems to be in an expansion mode, having also recently purchased Kansas City, Mo.-based pasta firm American Italian Pasta Co. for US$1.2 billion.
