Petcurean, a Canadian manufacturer of premium pet food, is donating 17,000 pounds of dog and cat food to the Bahamas Humane Society in Nassau, which has taken in animals from shelters and residents in the wake of Hurricane Dorian. The storm first hit on Sept. 1, and completely devastated the Bahamas, leaving 60 percent of homes destroyed and tens of thousands in need of urgent disaster relief. In addition to the Bahamas, the Category 5 storm also severely impacted Florida, both Carolinas, Georgia and Virginia.

To support the Bahamian communities as they begin recovering and rebuilding from the natural disaster, Petcurean is sending a pet food donation. The 17,000 pounds of cat and dog food is being donated in conjunction with Petcurean’s distribution partners, Southeast Pet and Phillips Pet Food.

Petcurean hopes this food donation will bring some relief to the local shelter as it aims to take in as many displaced animals as they can, and for families who are struggling to feed their furry family members in the midst of this crisis.

This year, Petcurean has made 193 donations so far, with a total of more than 92,600 pounds of food donated in 2019 to-date.
